It is normal. The barrel of Ray Gun may get hot after a long time of use. It’s similar to a hairdryer. Both are designed to handle the heat without any problem. We wanted the unit to be quiet in operation, and that’s why we didn’t use a fan for cooling. It does have cooling holes though.
